Kaufman, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. David I. Kaufman is a leading Breast Cancer Surgeon on Long Island as well as an expert in non-cancerous or benign breast diseases. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Kaufman received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1979. He attended medical school at the Universidad del Noreste School of Medicine in Tampico, Mexico and completed his studies at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He then performed his advanced residency training at The New York Infirmary, Beekman Downtown Hospital in New York City. He furthered his surgical training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Institute in New York City. Dr. Kaufman is an active member in the following medical societies:
Dr. Kaufman has been listed in the Guide to America's Top Surgeons. He was honored as The Physician of Distnction by the American Cancer Society He has been a recipient of The Patients Choice Award. He has held various academic appointments and has written articles on the subjects of breast cancer, benign breast diseases and breast surgery. Dr. Kaufman has been a featured speaker and contributor to the American Cancer Society, The Today Show, Cablevision, Newsday, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The God Squad, SHLI Radio and News 12 Long Island, as well as hospitals, large corporations and other local groups.
